Trailblazers Funded in 90 Minutes 🤯 Thank You!
Today has been an incredible day for Trailblazers and Bitewing Games! I woke up this morning at the crack of dawn to click that little green “Launch” button and then, like the bursting of a dam, all of you showed up to support us! It only took 90 minutes for us to blow past our funding goal. You all rock 🙌
We’ve been anticipating today for over a year now. It’s difficult to describe what launch day means to us. As a small & growing publisher, Kyle and I count our lucky stars that we were able talk designer Ryan Courtney and artist Seth Lucas into a collaboration on Trailblazers. Ryan has expertly crammed more juicy content—both multiplayer and solo—into this one game than I’ve ever seen in such an approachable design. And Seth took our vision for Trailblazers and ran with it to the stars—the end result is what you see across the gorgeous case and colorful cards and delightful bits of wood.
We’re thrilled to receive such massive support for Trailblazers in only 12 hours! Thank you for believing in our humble indie project 🙏. And this is only the beginning! We have 29 more days to go where we’ll be doing everything we can to push Trailblazers far beyond its funding goal. Your support for Trailblazers not only helps us to bring you an excellent game, but it fuels the growth of Bitewing Games and our mission to create and share classy board games that bite.
Twitch Stream Tomorrow Night
What better way to celebrate launch week than with a Twitch livestream of Trailblazers? Our friend Kasey (over at Brain in a Jar) has a physical copy of the game and will be streaming a play tomorrow at 8PM PT. We hope you’ll come hang out and join the fun. Previewer Highlight
We shipped an early copy of Trailblazers to the complete opposite side of the world to Board Game BBQ in sunny Australia. They’ve been playing loads of Trailblazers and just had a juicy 14-minute discussion on their experience with the game in their most recent podcast episode (Timestamp: 21:30).
What Fits in the Clamshell Case?
With the Deluxe Edition being the most popular pledge level, some of you have been asking us what exactly fits in the included clamshell case. If you head over to our FAQ section, we’ve updated the very last question to address this.
But in short, the standard game (1-4 players) definitely fits, yet there’s enough wiggle room to fit a bit more:
- The standard 1-8 player game (cards only)
- Enough animal tokens for at least a 2-player animal expansion game
- Enough animal tokens for Epic Solo Mode
No, you cannot fit all 339 cards and 186 wood tokens at the same time. This case was built to be portable! 😜 On the bright side, you can absolutely split a Deluxe Edition into two 1-4 player games to lend out to friends or family. You’ll just have to hash out who gets the wood tokens and who gets which goal cards 😉
Future Updates
As a general rule, we plan to provide updates 1-2 times per week during the campaign. After our Kickstarter campaign closes, we’ll update you at least once per month until your reward reaches your doorstep.
